It is a specialist laboratory vehicle adapted to perform advanced milk and colostrum analyses in field conditions, directly at the farmer's premises. The project was created as part of a consortium formed by Farm Innovations Sp. z o.o. together with the National Research Institute of Animal Production in Balice.
The main aim of creating a mobile laboratory was to allow farmers to obtain detailed information about milk quality in the shortest possible time and using modern tools.
The analysis of the raw material is carried out directly at the Client's farm and its results are available for reading in the Stado.pl application - immediately after the analysis. Up to now, the owner of the animals needed to take milk samples, transport them and hand them over to the laboratory, often with long waiting times and often considerable costs.
The laboratory is dedicated to farms producing products for direct sale or to local dairies and collection points. Such actions should protect product quality and food safety.
The mobile laboratory has been equipped with specialist FOSS analytical equipment: Milkoscan Mars 6 and BacSomatic. These analysers allow rapid analysis of milk or colostrum with regard to the basic ingredients (protein, fat, casein, dry matter, non-fat dry matter, freezing point) and screening for adulteration within one minute without the need for chemicals, as well as testing for bacteria and somatic cells to verify the hygienic quality of the milk. The device enables precise measurement of the number of bacteria and somatic cells in less than 9.5 minutes and the measurement of somatic cells below 1.5 minutes. In addition, the laboratory also has the ability to perform rapid tests to detect antibiotic residues in milk. The tests allow to obtain a quick result of analysis of raw milk, pasteurized milk, sterilized milk, powdered milk and whey.
The vehicle is equipped with its own power supply, allowing for continuous operation of the devices.
On 15 November 2019 the premiere of MCAM took place in the National Research Institute of Animal Production in Balice.
The event was commented on both in local and national media as well as in trade magazines.
